Company History |
FE Technologies is an operating division of Express Promotions Australia Pty Ltd; a family owned and run business operating since 1993. Express Promotions started life in 1923 as forms business Carter and Taverner Pty Ltd, before being purchased by the Reed family in 1988. Five years later, the company moved to new premises in Geelong to establish Express Promotions Australia. As a division of Express Promotions, FE Technologies has become a leader in the provision of innovative radio frequency identification (RFID) systems for public and private libraries. The company is also developing intellectual property with significant potential outside the library market. In 2006 FE Technologies began researching the needs of the library market, using RFID technology. After attracting Victorian Government support for its project – and with a purpose-built, in-house research and development facility to focus on the task – FE Technologies launched its Smart Library™ RFID system a year later. Since then, FE Technologies Smart Library™ RFID system has helped improve the operations of more than 10 public and private libraries including Geelong Grammar School, Sydney’s St Ignatius’ College Riverview, Bayside Library Service in Melbourne’s south-east and Riverina Regional Library Service. In addition to further improving the system for Australian and New Zealand markets, FE Technologies is working towards licensing the technology in other overseas markets. |
